Besides her gardens, which supplied the family with vegetables and flowers, Rose excelled at homemaking to include the budget, sewing, canning, cooking and baking. Rose and John were long time members of the Catholic church, first,  St. Joan of Arc, and then St. Catherine Alexandria. She enriched her community by being a consummate volunteer. One of her greatest achievements came with her friend the late Jane Nunnemacher, when they set the wheels in motion for the moving, restoration, and establishment of Hawks Inn Historical Society of Delafield. She went on to join the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, served as buyer for the hospital gift shop and was given an award for 11,000 hours of service. She was also active in the Oconomowoc Women’s club and the Amercian Legion. As her children grew up she began work at the Delafield city hall and ran the elections for 20 years.  Her passions lead to memberships in Summerdel Garden club, Questors and two formal dance clubs Centime and Twelve Nighters.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rose and John Stack, and son in law, Jim Bartel and In laws John and Anna Wyssling.

The family would like to thank: The staff at Sunset Ridge Memory Care Facility in Jefferson (her home since July) for their kind, loving care of Rose. The staff of Touching Hearts at Home who went above and beyond in providing compassionate home care for mom and dad.
