Robert L. "Buster" Goergen
January 20, 1942 - February 18, 2017
        

Robert “Buster” Goergen, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 due to complications from several strokes, with his family by his side.   

He was born in Oconomowoc on January 20, 1942 to Valentine and Viola (nee Nelson) Goergen. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963, and was a member of the American Legion- Edwin L. Jones Post 91. On September 19, 1964, he married JoAnn Wagner. Buster was employed as an electrician at Waukesha Motors for 42 years, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a long-time member of the Stone Bank Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a big fan of the Packers and the Brewers.   

Buster is survived by his wife JoAnn of 52 years; his sons Michael and Rick; his grandchildren Nicholas, Hannah, Emma, and Jacob; and his great-granddaughter Madison. He is further survived by his sister Donna Tetzlaff; his brothers David (Bonnie) Goergen and Roy Goergen; his brothers-in-law John (Dianne) Wagner and Richard (Kathy) Wagner; nieces, nephew, other relatives, and friends.    

He is preceded in death by his parents Val and Viola Goergen; brother-in-law Julius Tetzlaff; sisters-in-law Patricia Goergen and Celeste Goergen; nephew John David Goergen; and other relatives and friends.    

The family would like to thank ProHealth Home Care nurse, Bonnie, and caregivers Amy and Lisa, Eric, the staff at There’s No Place Like Home, and all the Lily Road neighbors for the wonderful care and support they gave to Buster and JoAnn.    

Buster will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him.   

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 12 PM NOON on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 145 E Lisbon Rd, Oconomowoc, WI with Pastor Rod Resheske officiating. Final rest will be held at LaBelle Cemetery.
