Bernice M. Daley, age 96, went home to the Lord on Saturday, April 15th, 2017. Bea was born in Oconomowoc, WI on May 9, 1920 to Emil and Clara (Oestreich) Dames. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School and St. Luke’s, Racine, School of Nursing. Her favorite nursing job was in the newborn nursery. She met Donald T. Daley while attending nursing school in Racine and they married on January 1, 1943. After raising their children and supporting her husband’s career, they moved to Florida and became realtors, a job she loved and in which she achieved great success. Declining health brought them back to Wisconsin for their final years. Donald passed on December 27, 1999. Together they have five children, Jeffrey (Sharon) Daley of West Dundee, IL, Kathryn Daley Lettau of Charleston, SC, James (Shirley) Daley of Janesville, WI, John (Sandra) Daley of Milwaukee, WI, and Paul Daley of Seattle, WA. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.   

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Rock Haven Nursing Home for their complete devotion to the residents, their professionalism and the love they showed to both Donald and Bea in their last years. Words cannot express our respect and appreciation.    

Bernice was a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Janesville. Funeral and burial will be a private family gathering in Oconomowoc, with Rev. James Janke, St. Matthew’s, Janesville, officiating.
