Patricia Ann Elizabeth Carroll, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on April 18, 2024. Patricia (Pat) was born on August 9, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Bernard Wondrow and Elizabeth (Grant) Wondrow.
As a young child Pat moved to Winona, Minnesota. She attended Winona State University and went on to work as a switchboard operator at The Watkins Company in Winona. Later in her career she thrived as the business manager for an orthopedic surgeon’s office in Milwaukee.
On October 10, 1953 she married the love of her life Richard C. Carroll. In 1959, Rich and Pat moved to her forever home in Greenfield, Wisconsin where they raised three wonderful children and enjoyed 49 years of adventure together until his untimely passing in 2002. She was an active member of the Adoration Evangelical Lutheran Church and spent a lot of time at the Tripoli Shrine in Milwaukee, where Rich was a longtime member.
An avid social butterfly, Pat loved to tell stories, share a laugh, play bingo and always had a witty comeback. With Rich by her side, she traveled the world, camped along the Mississippi River, danced till dawn, and won trap shooting competitions at the local gun club. Her favorite place she visited was Austria, which was befitting as her favorite song was Edelweiss. Pat also loved a brandy old fashioned, Nat King Cole, and the book Heidi.
Her greatest achievement in life was her family. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing all of her kids and grandkids together enjoying one of her delicious meals, and sharing a pint (or two) of frozen custard. She will forever be remembered for her dazzling smile, optimistic attitude and endless love for life.
Patricia is survived by her son Shawn (Nancy) Carroll, daughters Dawn (Neal) Paisley and Colleen Carroll (David Morrissey) and grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Ian, Kelsey (Alex), Braden, Evan and Maeve. She is also survived by in-laws Belle Goroski and Lance (Patricia) Carroll.
Private Family Funeral to take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona, Minnesota at a later date.
