Anne M. Moore
October 19, 1923 - April 12, 2012
        

Anne M. Moore, 88, longtime Appleton resident, passed away on April 12, 2012 in Mequon, WI.

She was born Oct. 19, 1923 to Paul and Sophia Zidek in Passaic, NJ.   She graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, NJ.  Anne served her country as a member of the U.S. Navy Waves during World War II.  It was during this time, in Washington D.C., that Anne met Glen H. Moore.  After his return from serving his country in Italy, they were married in 1945, and settled in Wisconsin where Glen’s career took them to Janesville, Madison, and eventually Appleton.

Anne was a homemaker and a devoted mother of five children. Later on, Anne was employed by Lawrence University for fifteen years, working in both the education and art departments.  After their retirements, she and Glen greatly enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Wautoma, and with their children and grandchildren.

Anne is survived by daughters Judith A. (John) Hellen, West Allis, Kathleen J. (Karl) Maio, Bayside,  Sandra Moore (Rev. Mark Evans), Lincoln, IL, Mary Ellen (Dr. Peter) Alden, Minneapolis,  and son Thomas G. (Barbara Murphy) Moore, Nashotah, twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Glen Moore, as well as her parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be on Thursday April 19 at 9:45 AM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church; 2700 West Mequon Road; Mequon, WI with the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM.

Burial services will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma, WI on Friday April 20 at 11:00 AM.
