Sorenson, Peter Leo

Passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2014 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Janice. Devoted father of Brynn, Brad and Chris. Loving grandfather of Paige, Bella, Max and Violet. Brother to Jane Sleep. Brother-in-law to Mac (Pamela) McCrea, Robert (Marilee) Sieracki and Keith Tollefson. Uncle to Jeff (Terri), Kevin (Amy), Sean (Kara), James, Brett (Wendy), Nicole (Brett), Donald and Jason (Avonne). Further survived by his dog Val, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Richard Sleep. 

Peter was born in Manitowoc, WI on December 1, 1944 to Leo and Mabel Kimbal Sorenson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. He went to the University of Green Bay from 1962-1964 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree on June 5, 1966 from the University of Wisconsin. On August 17, 1968 Peter received his Master of Science in teaching of Physics at UWM and continued working on his PhD at Marquette University. During Peter’s career, he worked at Northern Lab for his father’s company, Leonard Kaderbek’s Construction in Manitowoc. Later in life, he taught at MSOE and retired from Astronautics in 1995. 

Peter was very passionate about making things- such as reconstructing radios and television sets. He loved nature, animals and gardening. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him. 

At Peter’s request, services will be held privately by the family.
