November 11, 1930 - May 1, 2015

Born November 11, 1930. Brought to Eternal Life May 1, 2015. Age 84

Daughter of Harvey and Mildred (Rahlf) Dobratz, Milwaukee. She leaves behind sorrowing husband Jack L. Spooner whose highest priority for the past four years was to be at Gerry’s side for several hours each day and night at her “Home away from Home”, Cedar Springs Care Center in Cedarburg and Anita’s Gardens in Grafton. They recently celebrated a wonderful 59 years of marriage. Their marriage produced three loving children, Michael (partner Pamela Fuhry Adams) Spooner and Mark (Kelly) Spooner of Mequon and Sandra Truntz (Michael) of Cedarburg. Grieving grandchildren are Monica, Madeline and Margaret Spooner and Chelsea and Jessica Truntz.

Gerry was an enthusiastic member of the “Fickle Pickles” social group of girls at Rufus King High School and recently sang all four verses of their self created song with some of the remaining girls who visited her at Anita’s Gardens. Dear Gerry loved Broadway Show tunes and was an accomplished dancer. She loved her four years of singing and dancing on stage in Ripon College Veradest Springtime Musicals. She and Jack were enthusiastic members of the Mequon Dance Club for many years.

Private Services for the family will be held in the chapel at Washington County Memorial Park, Pastor Tim O’Brien of Mequon United Methodist Church presiding, followed by Entombment adjacent to the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory can be directed to Mequon United Methodist Church, Mequon Community Foundation, Ozaukee Family Services or the charity of your choice.
