Elizabeth Jane King was born July 15, 1926 in L'Anse, Michigan the daughter of Kingsford, Michigan Police Chief Henry King and Aurora King.  After graduating from Kingsford High School, she began working for the JC Penney Company in Milwaukee where she later met her future husband, John.  Elizabeth, also known as Bette, loved her family which includes her old Wauwatosa neighbors and she also loved gardening, books about exploration and mountain climbing, cooking, practical jokes and all things French.  Throughout her long life, Elizabeth—who was a master of the lost art of letter writing—corresponded with hundreds of people and touched their lives with her kindness, humor and unique perspective.  Earlier in life, she created watercolor paintings and drawings and used her calligraphy skills to express many thoughts.  A kinder soul, you will not meet.  The Maddente family wishes to express its gratitude for the compassionate and professional end of life care rendered at AngelsGrace Hospice and the attentiveness of staff at Wilkinson Woods in Oconomowoc.
