Of Whitewater, was born into eternal life at the age of 63, on July 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his loving wife Laurel of 39 years; loving dad of Jennifer (Darron) Smith and Thomas Petersen; proud grandpa of Dalton Smith; brother of Jill (Chuck) Clopton, Russ Jr. (Sandie) Petersen, Judy (Mark) Winkels, and Sue (Curt) Duchow.  He is further survived by his father Russell Petersen Sr., other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Petersen.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at St. John’s Lutheran Church (410 Hwy NN West, Mukwonago) from 8:30 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM.  Private family burial to follow at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the church or Braunhaus Kennels (Tim & Diane Brown) because of his love for the church and German Shepherds.
