Cathy was a hugely energetic and positive part of the DeWitt family. She set a great "pace" for the office, and was willing to help with anything that came up. I had not worked in an office with a husband and wife duo before DeWitt, and it was charming to see Ross and Cathy interact as they did in random moments around the office. Their affection and respect for each other was clear around the office, and there were numerous spontaneous laughing fits that would spill out of the kitchen when they were together. Cathy set a great example of how to live, and her presence will be missed.

I first met Cathy when she volunteered as a funeral meal preparer at Good Shepherd Parish. Subsequently, I knew her from her work in the Optimist Club where she served as president and head of the Distinguished Young Women program for many years. She was a vivacious, committed friend to all with whom she came in contact. God has called her home far too early, but we all rejoice in her being rewarded for her amazing efforts on behalf of the community's young people. To Ross and her family, we extend our sincere condolences. She was one of a kind! Ed Schlumpf

I'm so sad to see that Cathy has passed away. It's hard to imagine that someone like Cathy who was one of the kindest, loving and warmest women I've ever known could be gone from this world. I knew Cathy from being in the Optimist Club and volunteering with the DYW program many years ago. Cathy exuded Joy and was a beautiful example of what an Optimist living her whole life with that positive and energetic spirit. She filled a room with light with that amazing smile of hers. My sympathy to her family and dear friends. May your many memories fill your hearts as you walk this grief journey together. I don't think you have to look very far in Menomonee Falls to see evidence of how much Cathy changed the world for the better.

So sad to hear of Cathy's passing. She was truly one of those people who you remembered after only meeting once.
She could make you feel like you were the best conversation she'd had that day, and I'm sure she made everyone she talked to was like that. Truly a special person to have known, I'm glad she was a friend of mine.

I got to know Cathy in 2017 after joining the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club.

In 2018 she reached out to me if I could help her with taking headshots of the Distinguished Young Women participants for the program & in 2020 I started capturing pictures during program for the her participants.

She has touched the lives of so many people in the community & will be missed my many Sharkey family. I wish you comfort & healing during this difficult time.

To my dear friend.
"What made us friends in the long ago, when first we met? I think I know. The best in me and the best in you, hailed each other because they knew that always and always since life began our being friends was part of God's plan."

It was God's plan to take you in heaven as well. So now you can watch all your loved ones from up there.

She was the most amazing and graceful woman I ever met. She was my person. Life will be hard without you.

To Cathy's family and friends, I wish time heals the pain. She will live forever in our hearts and memories.

Cathy, was one of our favorite neighbors for years, living right next door to us, with her young family, on Grand Ave in The Falls. Later, after we moved, I was privileged to be asked by her to help, for a couple of years, with interviewing some of the candidates for Distinguished Young Women of the Year . I loved reconnecting with her and discovering how involved she had become in so many Falls activities.
She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by us, and by so many others.
I pray God will comfort all of Cathy’s family and friends who are, just as we are, heartbroken by her far to soon departure.
