I was so fortunate to have had Allen many years ago at UW Milwaukee. He was an exceptional educator and human in every possible way. I will always remember the way he treated each and every student. His genuine concern for his students, incredible creativity, and love for art education made a tremendous impact on my development as an educator. I never had a professor who could hold a candle to his fine example. Every time I walked into his class, he had coffee and pastries he so generously wanted to share to ensure busy students would be warmly welcomed and treated like family. After graduating, I enjoyed reaching out to him every once in awhile where rather than talking about himself, he always took such a genuine interest in hearing about how things were going in those struggling years of a beginner teacher. I am so grateful to have known him.

Uncle Allen was a funny, creative, positive person who always brought a smile to my face. I'll never forget him saying "pay attention, they'll be a quiz on this in 10 minutes". =)
Deepest condolences to the Caucutt Family.

My 2 sisters—Robyn & Kim—and I were student’s of Allan at Maple Dale. My sister Robyn passed of melanoma in 1981, but Kim and stayed in contact with Allan the rest of his life and we commission a beautiful bronze sculpture to commemorate my late father’s 80th birthday. The sculpture is breathtaking and captures the lifelong business partnership of my father and my uncle who had a bronze foundry. Allan captured the love between the 2 brothers so perfectly. We love that piece as did our father who passed in 2011. Allan lived the way all men should—with passion, love, and service. He has touched thousands of hearts. Much love to him and the surviving family.
