Marilyn S. McConnell
October 18, 1932 - June 5, 2026
I have known Marilyn for most of my life. I graduated from high school in June of 1961 and left my parent’s farm to find employment in the twin cities. I was introduced to Dr and Mrs McConnell via the Minneapolis employment office. My job was to take care of their newborn daughter, Suzette. The first real job! I had certain household responsibilities, but I distinctly remember Marilyn saying to me “if nothing else gets done, that’s okay, as long as you take good care of Suzette “. I, practically, became a member of their family. I remember my own mother (years later) saying “when you were 17 years old, you moved to Minneapolis and became a McConnell”.
I remained with the family through the birth of their first son, “Bobby”. I was blessed to become Bobby’s Godmother, and what a joy he was!
I have remained in contact with Marilyn, over the years. We would go for as long as a year, sometimes, and then spend an hour, or so, on the phone, and it was as though we had spoken only days ago. She has been one of my dearest friends for all of these years, and though I will miss our many chats and visits s, I praise the Lord, that she has finally been released from all of her suffering. I keep the family in prayer, and offer you all, my most sincere condolences. Love to you all! God bless this wonderful family, during the difficult days ahead. Blessings!
