I met Mr Kuehl my first year at Reagan. I struggle to encapsulate with words how much of an impact he had on me and all of his students. He truly had the kindest, most genuine soul, and never failed to make anyone feel seen or heard, I looked forward to every B day with him and to see the new tie he wore each week and the advice he had for his students to make life a little easier. I am utterly heartbroken and he will be missed more than any words could even begin to describe. Such a beautiful soul gone too soon, we will miss you so so much and I send my condolences.

It was my great pleasure to work with Mr. Kuehl (Peter)...I always called him Mr. because I respect the work teachers do. He was an amazing individual, kind, empathetic, supportive. He will be missed more than can be expressed. God bless your family in this difficult time. May you be filled with joyous memories of his brief time on this earth. We love you Peter. As I hope many come to realize, Mr Kuehl was more than just a teacher to his students. From the first day, he created a classroom that soon felt like a home and escape from the troubles that came with school or our own personal lives. No matter what the topic was, Kuehl always had an ear to listen and gave advice even when he was dealing with issues or worries of his own. My journey with Kuehl began sophomore year in his MYP Language and Literature Studies class. Kuehl was the first teacher to truly push me in my writing skills, and ultimately was the one to put the faith in me to take the IB test this past spring. At the end of my senior year, I gave him a letter thanking him for this, for pushing me to not only be a better student, but a better person, and show me what I hope to emulate and show to others in my future. We love you and are more grateful for you than words will ever be able to express. We are proud of you, and hope you are getting the much deserved rest while watching over your students and most importantly your family.
