Age 71, found peace on August 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with melanoma.

He was the beloved husband of Heidi (nee Schaefer); loving father of Melissa (Peter) Robertucci of Florida, Matthew Hendricks and Korina Hendricks; and proud grandfather of Briana.

Dennis will be missed by many relatives and friends, but especially his siblings and their families: James (Fay) Hendricks, Patricia (Shaker) Clark of Arizona, Susan Tobin of Arizona, Frank (Sharlee) Hendricks, Thomas (Patricia) Hendricks, Diane Swinson of Virginia, Pamela (Robert) Somers, Victoria Reinke, and John (Margie) Cieciwa. He was the cherished son-in-law of Grace Schaefer; brother-in-law to Lisa (Ed) Jahn and uncle to Adam.

He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy (Dennis) Shelley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI 53005) from 11:30 AM until the time of the service at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private. Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Roman Parish (1710 W Bolivar Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53221) on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

Dennis proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and as a Milwaukee Police Officer for 30 years, including many years assigned to the Tactical Enforcement Unit.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center or Wisconsin Humane Society are appreciated. The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff of Froedtert Hospital for their compassionate care.
