Philip S. Christiansen

Of East Troy, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2017, after a long standing illness.  Phil was born on October 12, 1932, in Glen Ellyn, IL., son of the late Frank and Anne (Hoyer) Christiansen.  Phil met his wife, Barbara, at Wheaton College, and they were married on September 24, 1955.  

He is survived by Barbara, his loving and devoted wife of nearly 62 years; 5 children Stephen (Karen), Jonathan “Jon” (Kathy), Dean (Maria Elena), Beth Anne (Jim) Struwing, and Ron (Kathy); 15 grandchildren Lindsey, Ellen, Lauren, Philip, Heidi, Ruth, Julie, Victoria, Michelle, Renee, Jennifer, Grace, Caleb, Caroline, and Libby; 4 great-grandchildren Heath, Melva, Nola, and Jude.

Phil and Barbara served at the Karanda Mission Hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa for 10 years.  He worked at the Stoughton Community Hospital and Aurora Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn as a Medical Technologist and also worked at Timber-lee Christian Center as  director of maintenance.  Phil loved serving the Lord wherever he was, and he faithfully taught and served as an elder at the East Troy Bible Church for 30 years. His life of service has influenced people all over the world.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, at East Troy Bible Church (2660 North St. (Hwy 20) East Troy) from 2:00 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 PM.  A meal will follow the service.  Burial will be held on Monday, August 28, at Oak Ridge Cemetery (Hwy 20 East Troy) at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Philip’s memory.
