September 26, 1950 - August 26, 2017

(nee: Churchville)  Born to Eternal Life on August 26, 2017 at the age of 66. Loving mother of Becky (Chris) Dyszelski and Angie (Brad) Brist. Adoring Nana of Collin and Griffin Dyszelski and Rosalind Brist. Cherished sister of Paul Churchville, Richard (Mike Mikulski) Churchville, and Mary Conner. Dear sister-in-law of Tom (Pam) Hutchison, Joe Hutchison, and Sandy (David) Weihrauch. Further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends too many to mention by name.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late William “Bill” Hutchison. Also preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Churchville, and Bill’s parents, Bob and Winnie Hutchison.

Chris was born and raised in Milwaukee, attending St. Pius X grade school and graduating from Pius XI High School in 1968. From there, she attended University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she met her beloved Bill and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1972. She later went on to achieve her Masters degree in Organizational Leadership and Quality from Marian College in 2001. Chris started her career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Shortly after, she found her passion for teaching and became a childbirth educator. She excelled in training, organization, and leadership and advanced in this area for a nearly 40-year career at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, culminating as Vice President of Community Wellness and Clinical Development.

Chris had a contagious maternal presence and described herself as an eternal optimist. She was extremely devoted to her family and friends and always put everyone else before herself. She was a generous soul who always expressed the deepest gratitude. She lived her life with strength, courage, love, and grace, especially these last 8 months as she battled glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.

Chris and her family would like to thank the many people who supported Chris during her cancer journey. We appreciate the staff at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Froedtert Hospital, who cared for Chris at the onset of her illness. We especially thank Chris’ treatment team at UW Health who expertly guided her treatment, including Dr. H. Ian Robins, Dr. Steven Howard, and Dr. Mustafa Baskaya. Special thanks for the compassionate care that Dr. Joshua Medow and the team on the Neurocritical ICU and the staff at Agrace Hospice provided to Chris during her final weeks. Chris would want us to acknowledge the many outstanding nurses and CNAs she encountered over these last several months, as they all truly made a difference. Lastly, we would like to express our eternal gratitude to Chris’ outstanding support network, especially Brenda Bowers and her amazing family, her close friends from Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, the “Pius Group,” and Gilda’s Club of Madison. You all helped Chris and the rest of us continue to enjoy life in the face of such challenges.
