Charles L. Roeder
September 22, 1936 - October 17, 2017
        

Charles L. Roeder, 81, of Mequon, WI, went home to be with the Lord on October 17th, surrounded by his loving family. 

Chuck was born in Whitefish Bay, WI to Charles & Alice Roeder. An Eagle Scout and graduate of Whitefish Bay High School, he attended Purdue University, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He married his sweetheart Gail and they shared their life and love for 60 years. After proudly serving as a Commissioned Officer in the US Army Chemical Corp, Chuck worked developing Rexnord Corporation business interests around the world for 32 years retiring as Chief Operating Officer and President of ChemRex Inc. In retirement, he taught at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in the Department of Engineering. Chuck served in several leadership roles in the community, including the Glendale/River Hills school board, YMCA, Kiwanis International, Job’s Daughters, Masonic Lodge, Junior Achievement, and the Whitefish Bay United Methodist and Ozaukee Congregational churches. 

Chuck’s life was dedicated to enriching the lives of his family. A true family man, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. An avid Green Bay Packer fan, he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, fishing, boating and time at the lake house. 

Chuck is preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Alice and grandson Noah. 

He is survived by his loving wife Gail, children Barb (Tom) Redding, Linda (Mike) Mehigan, Robin (Kevin) Savage and Chip (Robin), his brother David (Susie), his sister Merrie Kay (Jim) Gonyo, grandchildren Andrew (Erin), Sarah (Brian), Ryan, Matthew, Timothy, Reagan and Chase. 

Visitation Friday October 20 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, Mequon. Visitation will continue on Saturday October 21 at United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay, 819 E. Silver Spring Drive from 10:00AM until 10:45AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Private family interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be given to American Cancer Society.
