Duane A. “Olé” Olson

Duane “Olé” Olson, age 80, passed away on February 20, 2018 at Aurora Hospital. Duane was born March 10, 1937 in Black River Falls, WI. The son of Clarence and Gladys (Flood) Olson. He attended schools in Humbird, Alma Center, and Milwaukee, WI. Duane served in both the US Marines and the Army. He married the former Grace (Loppnow) at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church on August 24, 1958. He was employed by The Prudential, retiring after 30 years. After retiring, he and Grace enjoyed traveling in their RV across the country and Mexico. Duane enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, gardening, and was an avid bird watcher. He enjoyed selling flowers for Ebert’s Greenhouse Village, going to markets in Madison, Milwaukee, and West Allis. He was a 40 year member in the Ixonia Lion’s Club.

Duane is survived by his loving wife Grace, his daughter Tammy Frazier, his son Doug, four grandsons Zack, Ian (Cara), Brandon, and Devyn, one great grandson Logan, step family Doug and Arsha Fine, and sons Oliver and Evon of Hawaii. Duane is further survived by two brothers Dale of Black River Falls and Don (Martha) of Longview, TX, four sisters-in-law Florence Kroll and Jane Ebert of Oconomowoc, Beatrice Loppnow of Watertown, and Joy Jenkins of Florida, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister June, sister-in-law Agatha, and brothers-in-law John, Robert, and Fred Loppnow.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 210 E Pleasant St, Oconomowoc, WI. Memorials to the church or the donor’s choice are appreciated.
