Hildegarde Anita (nee Schumann) Borchers was born April 17, 1924 in Firth, Nebraska to Bianka and Adolph Schumann joining sisters Dolores and Natalia.  She was confirmed in the faith on March 31, 1937 and graduated from Neillsville High School on May 5, 1942.  Hilde went on to Nurse's Training, graduating with her Bachelor's Degree in September 1945; and loved working as an obstetrics nurse at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  It was there that she met Richard Borchers, a vicar.

They were married on June 19, 1955 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.  Hilde was a loving pastor's wife and mother in Chicago, Illinois; Fairmount, North Dakota; Wittenberg, Oconto and Vesper, Wisconsin. 

The Borchers retired to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin in May, 1995 and loved living at Harwood Place.  For the last six and a half years, Hilde has been tenderly cared for by the whole staff at the Lutheran Home.

Hilde was born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 93 years. 

Beloved wife of Richard.  Dear mother of Miriam (Dan) Ryan, Martha (Jim) Calliham, Daniel (LisaJo) Borchers, Deena Mertz.  Beloved grandmother to Alex (Alise) Sherman, Kyra Borchers, and Lanie Borchers, Vince Schramer, Jocelyn Schramer, Daphne Schramer, Rebekah Ryan and Philip Ryan.

Visitation Friday, February 23 from 1 p.m. until time of Service at 2:00 p.m. at THE LUTHERAN HOME CHAPEL, 7500 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa.  Private interment Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetary, Vesper, Wisconsin.
