Mary Bubanovich of Oconomowoc died on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the age of 95. She was born June 18, 1923 in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Daughter of Peter and Ana (nee Vidovich) Bubanovich. She graduated from Eagle River High School in 1941 and then attended the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point where she earned a Master’s degree in elementary education.

She then taught school in Waukesha County for 45 years- 5 years in the one room, all-8-grader schools, and 40 years in Okauchee first grade.

She was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church- Oconomowoc. She was a world traveler- having visited most areas of the world. Her great interests were conservation and the plight of citizens of the third world.

She belonged to the Waukesha County (and National) Nature Conservancy, the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology, and the many other conservancy groups. She supported Care, Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Poor, and many other organizations which seek to help people lift themselves from poverty.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc. Memorials can be made for the Masses or the Waukesha County Nature Conservancy.
