Vincent J. Diderrich October 15, 2018 age 93. Son of the late Joseph and Gertrude. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Mary. Wonderful and loving father to Philip Sr. (Fiona), Jane Schmittenger, Ruth (Bill) Rorig and Helen (Scott) Wilfong. Beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Further survived by other family and friends.

Vince was an Army medic who served during WWII, after the war, he built a small two story house north of town. This house still stands strong. In 1964, he and Mary, along with their growing family purchased a farm on 13 acres west of town. On this "gentleman's farm" as he fondly referred to it, they raised their 4 children. It was on this farm, that he planted and grew assorted vegetables and fruits that were harvested and sold to the local grocery stores and regular customers. Most of the trees that he dug and sold were also planted by him and his family. Many of these trees were also cut and sold as Christmas trees. In their later years tall "Christmas Trees" were cut and donated to St. Jerome Church. For the many years he and Mary lived on the farm, they and their neighbors grew close bonds with each other that lasted to this day. Vince was the owner and operator of Diderrich Garden and Nursery for many years, many of his trees can be found in the Oconomowoc area and up until his retirement in 2000 at 75, he was still digging trees his trees by hand. He also owned and operated Rays Disposal Service for many years and was the Sexton at Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery. He was a wood carver, beekeeper and a local horseshoe champion.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 20, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church 995 S. Silver Lake St. in Oconomowoc where he was a member since 1964. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at Noon with Military Honors to follow.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center were dad lived the last of his 7 years. He touched every staff in his own quiet and caring way. Memorials to the Wisconsin Honor Flight appreciated.

Vince was a humble man who was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
