Marynn Schifano
August 14, 2001 - October 17, 2018

Marynn Debra-Reichert Schifano was born to Life on August 14, 2001 and went to heaven October 17, 2018. At the mere age of 17, she passed away peacefully in her sleep after fighting a fierce and long battle.

Marynn was loved deeply by her family and shared an incredible bond with her brother Xander and sister Chloe. As siblings they were each others best friends. The 3 of them could be found enjoying the warm summer days playing on the slip n slide or building snowmen together in the cold winter months. They loved to explore the farm, hiking the trails, and somedays even making their own trails. They would hang from the trees and sit at the bon fires and eat s’mores until their bellies were full and fingers were sticky. Marynn’s teen years brought a new found love to drive around in her big sister’s car blaring the radio and laughing at how trivial small town life could truly be.

Marynn loved the outdoors and enjoyed tremendously hiking and exploring nature with her dad. Always looking for new trails, or simply finding their way back to 7 bridges along the lakefront. She loved animals and spending time bonding with them at HAWS, often times leading her dad to bring home a new cat or dog she simply couldn’t leave behind.

She shared a deep bond with her Grandma Debbie and during the last year of her life the 2 were inseparable. Grandma Debbie taught Marynn about patience and unending love. Together they spent countless hours talking about life, pain, darkness and happiness.

As a young girl she found a passion and skill for playing soccer, which she did at an elite level until her illness took over.

As adolescents approached a darkness began to take over this loving and beautiful child. For 2,190 days Marynn fought bravely; she waged a battle each and every day to keep the darkness at bay and to live. For over 2000 days Marynn fought a war and felt a pain that no one can ever comprehend, and she did so with a bravery far beyond her young years. But over time Marynn began to tire, and her little body grew wearisome, and on day 2,191 she laid down her armor and made the decision that it was her time to sleep.

As a family we are left with a gaping emptiness and pain so very deep at this loss. Mental illness is a crippling disease that ravages not only the afflicted but every person who comes in contact with them. The loss of Marynn brings a deep and profound sadness to our family, and an anger at the injustice of a beautiful soul so filled with pain. In the end however, we know this brave young lady is no longer in hurting, Marynn is finally at peace.

Our family is incredibly grateful for Waukesha County Health and Human Services, and for the support and guidance given to us over the years by Amanda and Greg.

Marynn is survived by her parents Marcie and Todd and her siblings Chloe and Xander as well as her sidekick and companion, her dog Dillion. She leaves behind her grandparents Bonnie and Bob Kintop, as well as her Grandma Debbie. She will be truly missed by her aunt Monica and uncle’s Steve and Ryan.

A celebration of Marynn’s life will be held at Brooklife Church in Mukwonago, WI on Thursday, October 25th from 3 PM until the time of Service at 5 PM.
