Clement J. "JR" Gleissner, Jr.
December 19, 1934 - November 17, 2020

Born to Eternal to Life on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Hauser) for 65 years. Loving father of Susan Gleissner, David (fiancée Vicki Albrecht) Gleissner, Linda Lacy, Christine (James Krzoska) Gleissner and Sharon Gleissner. Cherished grandfather of Michael Lacy, Diana Lacy, Arick and Ciana Gleissner, Austin and Jacob. Dear brother of Marilyn (the late William) Thompson and brother-in-law of Marguerite Gleissner. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his brother Alois.

“JR”, as he preferred to be called, grew up in Granville where he spent many years helping his father run the family farm. As a teenager, he met the love of his life, Shirley, and soon after started their life together, having 5 children. To help support his new family, he became an over the road truck driver while still managing to help out on the family farm. JR then began a career at Central Ready Mix lasting 38 years where he started as a driver but soon worked his way up to lead mechanic. Throughout his life he continued helping his father run the farm as well as starting his own at his family home he built with his Father in Law. He also managed to find time for his other passions including joining softball and bowling leagues, and spending as much time as he could hunting and fishing. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society at St Boniface church for over 20 years. Despite all his commitments, JR was never too busy to help a friend or family in need as well as becoming quite the handy man, able to fix almost anything. He was generous, kind, loving and a devout Catholic. But his greatest love has always been his family, whom he was absolutely devoted to, and will be so very missed.
