Richard Orville "Dick" Mossey, MD
September 18, 1924 - January 10, 2021
        

Of Wauwatosa. Passed away peacefully on January 10, 2020 at the age of 96. Dr. Mossey served over 25 year as Wauwatosa Health Commissioner in addition to maintaining his General Surgical practice.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Patricia (nee Sullivan) Turzinski Mossey; beloved daughter, Anita Mossey, of Wheaton, IL, cherished step-children, Carrie Turzinski (Steven) Bahr, of Greenfield, WI and Atty. Terrence (Julie) Turzinski of Dallas, TX; treasured grandchildren, Kayla Bahr (Josh) Benishek of Menomonee Falls, Alexandra Turzinski of Richardson, TX, and Jake Turzinski of Bakersfield,. CA; and great-granddaughter, River Benishek. Of Menomonee Falls. Also survived by special friends, Carol and Peter “Coach” Colletti of Titusville, FL and many magical friends who occupied warm places in his heart. Preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (nee Marx) Mossey, step-son, Lawrence Turzinski, and parents, Dr. Fred and Anita (nee Bushman) Mossey.

Dick was a renowned historian and collector of magic memorabilia. Due to the Covid Pandemic private services will be held. A Celebration of Dick’s outstanding life and accomplishments will be held at a later date.

Our hearts will ache at the loss of this brilliant, gentle man who devoted his life to family, medicine, and the art of magic. Our lives have been enriched by his presence.
