Carole Nancy Schultz
September 4, 1937 - February 21, 2021

Carole Nancy Schultz peacefully left us on Feb. 21, 2021, after a 15 month long battle with cancer. She was born to Elmer and Elsa (Kressin) Schultz on Sept. 4, 1937. Her childhood was spent on the Schultz farm in Lannon which is now part of Menomonee Park. After the unexpected death of her mother when Carole was only 6 years old, she and her brother Ken spent more time with Uncle August and Aunt Agnes (Schultz) Guis who lived just down the road. Later, her father married Helen Philleo. Carole remained close with her step-mother until her passing.

As a young girl, Carole talked her dad into getting her a horse. Horses were a big part of her life from then on.  She met her best friends because of horses and maintained those friendships throughout her life. In 1956 she became a charter member of the Menomonee Falls Saddle Club and was active until her death. She held many positions over the years and won many awards.  In her words: “being part of MFSC has meant work, learning, and lots of fun; but most of all it has meant long term friendships.” One of her proudest moments occurred when Saddle Club was the leading group for the first Circus Parade in Milwaukee in 1963.

Carole was baptized at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Menomonee Falls, WI, and remained a dedicated member throughout her life. She took on many roles at St. Paul's. She was proud to be a founding member of the St. Paul’s Foundation. She served as president of the congregation. She was known as the church historian. She maintained a strong faith in Christ throughout her life.

Although she did not have a college degree, she worked as an accountant all her life. First at D&L Manufacturing, then F&M Bank (now Associated Bank) for 26 years, and back to D&L Manufacturing before retiring.

She was very involved with her brother’s family. After her dad and brother moved the family farm to Holcombe, WI, she made countless trips north to help out when she could and to be a part of the lives of her five nephews and two nieces. Aunt Carole rarely missed a family event of any kind. She was extremely proud of the many accomplishments of her nieces and nephews and of their children.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Schultz of Onalaska, WI; her nephews and nieces Ken and Deb (Onalaska, WI), Dan and Brenda (Stoughton, WI), Jack (Fridley, MN), Bill and Deb (Steuben, WI), Mike (Steuben, WI), Mary and Dave Harvey (New Prague, MN), and Nancy and Steve Dungy (Canon Falls, MN); great nieces and nephews Carole, Andres, David, Ron, Selina, Emma (Austin), James (Melissa), Kelly (Josh), Joe (Julia), Amy (David), Mary, and Mattie (Graham); and four great-great nieces Eva, Emilie, Kennedy, and Olivia. She is also survived by her many friends, including longtime cherished friends Margie Puls, Mary DeQuardo, and Mary Nettesheim.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ken, and her beloved horses Toby, Doug, Cajun, and Annie.

Her funeral will be Tuesday, March 2 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, NN89W16856 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Visitation will start at 10:00am, followed by a service at 12:00pm and internment .  Please plan to wear a mask and follow COVID guidelines.
