April 13, 2021 at the age of 102 years. Beloved husband of Kathryn Millard-Hotz. Father of Peter (Linda), Charles (Lynne Jesaitis) and Suzanne. Grandfather of Alex, Nick and Elise (Hotz). Preceded in death by wife Shirley Ruth (Kett).

Gottfried was born in Switzerland in 1919 where he spent his youth. He served in the Swiss army during World War II. He came to the United States in 1949 at the age of 30. He worked as a meat cutter in Milwaukee where he met his first wife, Shirley Ruth (Kett). They had three children Peter, Charles and Suzanne. Shirley passed away in 1994 at the age of 62. Gottfried met Kathryn Millard (Kay) and they were married in 1996. Gottfried was always active. He loved being outdoors and spent much time skiing, hiking or at his cabin in Wautoma. He also loved to travel. He and Kay traveled extensively. When they were not traveling, they enjoyed spending time with both their families.
