Phyllis Vukelich

Phyllis A. Vukelich (nee Kappenman) of Germantown, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday June1, 2021 at age 94. Dearest mother of Cheryl. Proud & loving grandmother of Alexa Thiet (Brian), Matthew Glassel, Michaela Glassel (Brandon Mantz). Great-grandmother of Sienna & Eva Thiet. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Joseph, brother Doug, parents, Lawrence & Lyda (Brockel).

 Born in Sioux City, IA Phyllis grew up in Milwaukee attending St. Thomas Aquinas grade school & Holy Angels HS. Upon finishing business school, Phyllis worked for Mercury Records for a few years instilling her love of music promoting upcoming artists in the music industry. Reentered the workforce for many years as the office manager for Sullivan Corp in Waukesha, retiring to spend time with her most precious grandchildren. She found the greatest joy attending their countless school & sporting events, babysitting at the drop of a hat, and proudly watched them grow into adults.

 Phyllis was also a dedicated volunteer, sharing her time and talents to many organizations. An active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church & grade school for over 50yrs and a lifelong Girl Scout. Enjoyed weekly Midget Car Races in Sun Prairie with her husband, Joe and nephew Kevin, bringing a grandkid and pans of brownies and lemon squares for the pit crew. She was a bit of a social butterfly-loved to entertain, enjoyed bingo and slots in Vegas or Potowatami, Brewer games, the beaches of Hawaii & St. Kitts. A classy lady that rarely left home without lipstick! Best puppy chow maker with Micki.

 Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday June 10 at 11am at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls. Family and friends may gather after 1030A. Entombment at St. Mary's Mausoleum to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donation to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Girl Scouts of Manitou Council are appreciated.
