Born to Eternal Life on November 20, 2021, at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife, for 62 years, of the late James F. Pitterle.  Carol was also preceded in death by her sons Michael, Mark and Kevin, her parents Benedict and Angela (nee Ryan) Gloudeman, her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Louis Sharfenberger, and other dear relatives and friends.

Loving mother and mother-in-law to Timothy (Cindy), Daniel (Jill), James (Beth) and Mike’s widow Jane.

Beloved grandma and great grandma of Kiersten (Michael) Schramek with Hudson and Brinn, Erin (John) Murphy with Morgan and Matthew, Jon, Ryan (Megan) with Lela and Bryson, Kevin, Michael, Marissa, Carlyn, Brianna (Dustin) Rozman with Evelyn, Conor, and Kayle (Alex) Garcia with Mariah and Naomi. Dear sister-in-law to Joan (Frank) Boyle and Therese Pitterle, widow of Thomas.  Also survived by her “adopted” daughter Jeanine (Skieraski) Hoerz, and dear, lifelong friend Ann Fritsch. Carol is further survived by many caring relatives and friends.

Carol grew up on McKinley Boulevard in Milwaukee. She graduated from St. John’s Cathedral High School and Marquette University. Carol was a nurse in both hospital and industrial settings while also raising her six boys. The importance of faith and family guided her life. When she was in High School, Carol cared for her ill mother, Angela, nursing her until her passing. Her Dad, Ben, lived with her, until he died at age 99. Mom enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Jim, including visits to friends and family. Carol was a real trooper as a traveler and camper. She went along with her husband and six sons on many cross-country tent camping trips.

With outstanding fortitude and courage, Mom withstood the death of her mother, and her sons, Kevin, Michael and Mark.    Her ability to be a wonderful mother, befriending and welcoming all, will be greatly missed.
