Kathy Gutzmann (Herbst) passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on January 13th in the home she loved. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years (Jim), stepsons Christopher and Daniel (Mindy) Gutzmann. Grandchildren Courtney (Sean), Chaeli & Alexander. Siblings Bill (Sue) Herbst, Mary (Tim) Follett, Patricia (Dwight) Martell, John (Jean) Herbst, Carolyn (Ed) Lentz. Beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends & clients. Preceded in death by her parents (Joyce & Lenard Herbst) and niece/godchild Shannon Follett.
Kathy’s last, self-less act was that of donation. She gave of herself so others may have a better life.
Kathy was known for a sweet presence and friendly personality. She made everyone she met feel like they were her lifelong friends. Kathy’s profession of 40 years was a hair stylist. Her profession was more then a job to her. Her talents of helping people look their best kept clients coming back for many years. She loved her clients and treated them like her family. The bonds she formed with clients and fellow stylist goes back from when she started. Kathy also was very generous; she would do anything for the ones she loved. Her husband jokes that Kathy loved to “pick up the bill” whenever they were dining with friends or family. She just wanted everyone to be happy. She hated to be the center of attention and would prefer to focus on other’s needs. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They were a focus of her conversations and she glowed when their names were mentioned. Her absence will be felt by many.
