Passed into Eternal Life on January 16, 2022 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Gisela M. Haertl (nee Viol). Loving father of Christopher (Becky Van Dam), Thomas (Valerie), Patricia Haertl, and Julie Haertl-Bush. Also survived by 9 grandchildren; 1great grandchild and 1 great grandchild expected in April; as well as other caring relatives and friends.

A retired Arborist, James was known in his community for his apricot trees and his talent for growing an abundant crop of apricots in his own urban corner lot.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving his country during the 1950’s.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11 AM. A procession to Holy Cross Cemetery will follow for Interment.
