William Quirk
October 10, 1937 - May 19, 2022
        

William D Quirk, 84, of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, passed away on May 19th 2022 in Aurora, Il. 

William (Bill, Grampa Bill, Uncle Dan, Uncle Willie, Marathon Bill) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William E. and Elizabeth A. Quirk on October 10, 1937.  He went to school at Wauwatosa East High School.  He married Diane B. Dallman on May 2, 1959. He graduated from MSOE University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Later he received two Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  He worked as an Electrical Design Engineer for AC Electronics, Peter Albrecht Co. and Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley over his 43 year career. He collaborated and worked on a wide range of projects including designs for the guidance systems of the Apollo space missions and theatrical stage equipment in the Metropolitan Opera House, Kennedy Center, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Milwaukee’s Performing Art Center.  He was involved in the Badgerland Striders Running Club during which time he participated in 47 marathons and ultra-marathons as well as countless other running events across the USA.  William was devoted to the study of God’s word and the preservation of Liberty with which America has been blessed.

William is preceded in death by his Wife, Mother, Father, Sister Jean (Quirk) Wendt, Daughter Cheryl L. (Quirk) Graziano, Grandson Tyler C. Quirk. 

William is survived by his Son Robert, Grandchildren Robin, Hannah, Daniel & Matthew, Great Grandchildren Jack & Emma.

Visitation will be held at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Wauwatosa (10121 W. North Ave) from 11AM until time of service at 1PM. Committal to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

The family of William wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at The Landings in Batavia Illinois, Dr. Mercado and the NW Medicine team for the AWESOME care provided while Bill was there. You made his final stop the best it could be and he loved you all.
