Joined his beloved wife Ginny in Heaven on July 1, 2008, age 84. Bill is survived by his children Nancy (Daniel) Herrell, William R. Cross and Jill (Duane) Du Mez; his grandchildren, Joshua (Joy), Benjamin (Nichole), Jonas, Alison and Christa Herrell, Wendy Cross, Heather (Justin) Jehn, Katie Jo and Danielle Du Mez; his great-grandchildren, Nathan Langenkamp and Addison Jehn, his sister, Carol (Robert) Steinkraus and several nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Milwaukee Washington High School, UW-La Crosse and Marquette University, as well as served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He spent many years as a high school physical education teacher and administrator. He loved Track and Field and spent many years announcing the WIAA State Track and Field meets and began the High School Track and Field Honor Roll. Visitation Wed. July 9, from 11:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at ST. MATTHEW’S EV LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1615 Wauwatosa Ave., Wauwatosa. In lieu of flowers Memorials to Zilber Family Hospice or the Oostburg High School Track Boosters appreciated.
