Lawrence Rudolph Kem
April 22, 1935 - June 11, 2017

Lawrence Kem passed away  peacefully, after a brief illness , having recently returned to Wisconsin from his grandson Jack’s college graduation.  He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth (Roger) Clark, Laura Kem, two beloved grandchildren, Danny (Kelly) Clark and Jack Clark, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and infant son, David.

Larry lived a life filled with friends, loved ones and joy. He was a Navy veteran, having served as a Lieutenant Junior Grade.  He enjoyed a distinguished business career, as a Partner with McKinsey & Company and President of the American Appraisal Company, among other senior executive roles.   He was a strong proponent of education and established a scholarship program to "pay it forward" at his alma mater, Southeast Missouri State University where he established a scholarship program in his late wife's name. He received the 2008 Merit Award for his work at Southeast. He enjoyed vacations with family and was a voracious reader.

He will be interred at Cape Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Arrangements are pending for a memorial celebration of his life in Milwaukee, to be held soon. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Barbara Hope Kem Memorial Fund at Southeast Missouri State University, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, MO  63701.
