Mary was born in Palmyra, Wisconsin but called Oconomowoc, Wisconsin home for over 50 years. Mary was a waitress by trade but most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her commitment and dedication to her family was her top priority, as giving came naturally from her kind heart and spirit.  She enjoyed people and made friends easily with anyone she met along her pilgrimage in life.  Mary enjoyed fishing and hiking in the woods around the cabin her father built since she was age 4.  She was also very active in the Oconomowoc area sporting community, competing in many triathlons and biking events.  But nothing compared to the love she had for her family.  Her face lit up anytime she spoke about her children and grandchildren.  

Mary is survived by her husband Thomas Mackovich, whom she loved and was married to for over 62 years. She is also survived by her three children, Angela (David) Steffek of Omaha, NE, Michael Mackovich of Baldwin, WI, and Pamela (Kevin) Behnke of Chippewa Falls, WI, as well as her seven grandchildren, Dylan and Makenzie Mackovich, Zach Steffek, and Zach, Zoey, Tyler, and Mason Behnke.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St, Oconomowoc. A second visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 10 AM on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Funeral Home. Service will be led by Pastor Terry Fulks. Burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra, WI. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family is requesting donations to the American Heart Association.
