June Fox
August 1, 1932 - July 12, 2021

A lifetime of joyful memories were restored to June on July 12, 2021 as she  peacefully passed into God’s loving arms surrounded by her family.

June was born on August 1, 1932 to Edith and Sanford Hastings.   She graduated from Wauwatosa East High School and began working at US Steel.  She met a sailor named Don and married him on March 21, 1953.  June and Don eventually settled in Wauwatosa and six children followed.  June devoted herself fully to their care.

As the kids grew, she returned to work and was employed for many years at the Hallmark Card store at Mayfair Mall.  She moved to a clerical position with a popcorn wholesale distributing company then ultimately returned to Hallmark on Bluemound Road in Brookfield.

She loved to laugh and act silly.  She traveled whenever and wherever she could, visiting destinations such as Florida, California, Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, England, Italy, Germany,  and the Panama Canal with friends and family.

She cherished her dogs, Muffy I and Muffy II and gave them each a great life.  She enjoyed the beach and going to the zoo and feeding the giraffes.  Happy Hour with all the “Fox” females was always on the top of her list with lots of laughs and giggles.

But most of all, her life and love was dedicated to her family.  She treasured her kids,  grandkids and great-grandkids and would do anything for them.  She always put her family first and was the ultimate role model of selflessness.  A perfect day for June was to be surrounded by her family to share laughter and love.

The last couple of years, while in the final stages of Alzheimer’s, June was blessed to be cared for by the angels dressed as caregivers at Hartland Terrace.  Each treated June like she was their own mom.  The family is deeply grateful to the entire staff for their care and compassion.

June is survived by her husband, Donald J Fox, her children, Richard (Denyse) Fox, Cathy Weis, Brian (Chuckie) Fox, Robert (Mindy) Fox, Sandy (Kurt) Bartel and Sue (Scott) Opper, many  grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Sussex on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 9am until time of service at 11am. Memorials directed to Hartland Terrace are appreciated.
