John Eugene Schacht , 84 , passed from this life suddenly on Friday, May 6th, 2022.
John was born and raised in Augusta, Wisconsin in 1938. He lived in one of the first houses to get electricity in the area. He grew up in a household where his father worked for the State of Wisconsin testing the hygienic quality of milk. That sparked John’s desire to become a dairy farmer, a dream he later fulfilled. John married the love of his life, Donna, and they were married for 45 years. Donna preceded John in death in 2002.
Together they had three children.
John is survived by his children Michael (Vicky) Schacht of Waukesha, Craig (Georganne) Schacht of Jefferson, and Julie (Andy) Naporano of Grove City, OH; his grandchildren, Benjamin Schacht, Aaron Schacht, Nathan (Lauren) Schacht, Gavin Schacht, Kenna Schacht-Abushaban (Ayman), Michelle (Hans) Jetter and Nicole Naporano; and his great-grandchildren Casey Schacht, Conor Schacht, Elenore Schacht, and Mercer Schacht. John is also survived by his two older brothers, Leonard (Ruth) Schacht and Darryl (Yufen) Schacht.
John loved feeding his backyard birds, watching most any sports teams – especially – the Packers, had a dedicated love of wrestling and old movies. He had a silly sense of humor and enjoyed puns.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation will be held Saturday May 14, 2022 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc from 10 am until time of service at 11:30am. Private interment Summit Cemetery.
