We are broken hearted to announce the unexpected passing of David Charles Boomsliter on May 9, 2022. David was 37. David was the beloved son of Richard (Mary) Boomsliter and Katy (Bill) Reisig. His loving sister, Kristey (Harish) Sunkari will always miss her big brother and his bear hugs.
David was a rare soul who embodied a deep intelligence combined with a loving big heart that exuded love for his family and friends. He always ensured to bring a smile to those surrounding him. Talking with David meant that your sides would ache from laughter, and likely he would be imparting some knowledge about politics or current events that would bring a new perspective not previously held. David’s lifelong passion for skateboarding provided him grounding clarity while cultivating deep lasting friendships that more resembled a brotherhood. Although originally from the Milwaukee area, David was most recently a resident of Los Angeles, California, where he expanded on his career as an audiovisual engineer and explored his love of the outdoors and the ocean.
David is lovingly survived by his grandparents Dr. David and Janet Schrader, Aunts; Donna Pehowski and Judith Wisdom, Uncle; John (Sue) Schrader, and cousins; Elizabeth Berdan, Shannon Raymond, Elayna Murphy, AJ Pehowski (Carly) and Sarah Pehowski, Sam and Cassidy Schrader along with his niece and nephews, Harper, Oliver and Adler Sunkari. David is also survived by Aunts, Uncles and cousins in the Reisig/Schnell and Wettstein families. Preceded in death by his Aunt Ann Schrader (4/22) and Uncle John Pehowski (6/12).
Visitation Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 1:00pm until Time of Memorial Service at 3:00pm at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to organizations close to David’s heart; "Stoked" (stoked.org), the Beagle Freedom Project (bfp.org), or the Wisconsin Humane Society.
We will miss you David.
