Mike A. Lupo
January 31, 1957 - August 3, 2022

Michael A. “Mike” Lupo Of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2022 at the age of 65. Mike was born on January 31st 1957 in Chicago Illinois. Early in his adult life, he served in the United States Army as a Helicopter Mechanic and Pilot where he ended his military career as a Chief Warrant Officer. The time he served remained important to him throughout his life as he was a part of many clubs and organizations supporting veterans. Mike was an amazing husband, father, musician, and friend who could cheer up any crowd with his sense of humor. Anyone who knew Mike knew his love for music and his bands, Bare Bonez and Rock Bottom Blues, hence his nickname- Sixstring. He was a phenomenal guitarist and singer with a deep love for Classic Rock, and Blues. He enjoyed music more than most people and spent most of his time either playing his guitar or building a new one. If he wasn’t playing music, he was riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed casual rides with friends or taking longer trips like riding to Memphis with Debby. In 2021, Mike started a new chapter in life: retirement. He enjoyed spending time at their mini getaway “La Casa” on Army Lake with his friends and family creating new memories. While retirement creates more free time, Mike found ways to keep himself busy through little projects around the house, maintaining his home and being around the ones he cared about. His love, quick wit and infectious smile will live within us all. The price of love is grief and today we grieve the loss of a man who we all will deeply miss.

He was the loving husband of Deborah Lupo (nee Barber) of 15 years. Preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Antoinette Lupo and brother Sam “Sammy” Lupo. Survived by Lynn Zdunek (Don Zdunek), Gayle Klapacki (Tom Klapacki, decd). Loving father of Brad Lupo, Brett Lupo, Taylor Lupo, Rebecca Mertens, Ian Wappenschmidt, and Brianna Hanisch. Loving grandfather of Jace Lupo, Adriaan Lupo, Christopher Mertens and Wyatt Mertens. However, we can’t forget about his love for his dogs, Melanie “Mellie” and Gibson “Gibbie”.
