Thomas J. Balestrieri
November 16, 1957 - August 17, 2023

Thomas J. Balestrieri, age 65, of Sussex, Wisconsin went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, August 17th 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous, hard-fought battle with Cancer as a result from a rare genetic disoder known as, Lynch Syndrome.

Tom was born on November 16th 1957 in Milwaukee, WI, to Joanne (Flegler) and Anthony “Tony” Balestrieri. He graduated from Sussex Hamilton High School in 1976, and continued his education at Waukesha County Technical College.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Nadine Balestrieri (Pavwoski), on March 20th, 41 years ago. They grew as adults together and built a beautiful family, raising their three children, John, Lisa, and Lauren while living in Sussex, WI. He was a self taught contractor and business owner of Tom Balestrieri Contractors, for much of his career. He later worked for Design 2 Construct as a Superintendent, where he met many of his closest friends.

Tom was a devoted husband and father, a Christian, and an avid outdoorsman who spent his free time hunting, fishing, and shooting sporting clays. He enjoyed spending time in Tomahawk, WI, where he spent many summer days with his family and friends at their cabin on Lake Alice. Tom was a knowledgeable man and a resource to many. He enjoyed helping others, working outside on home projects while listening to Pink Floyd, and relaxing while watching Wisconsin sports and Western movies.

Tom is survived by and will remain in the hearts of his wife Nadine (Pavwoski), children John, Lisa and Lauren Balestrieri, and cherished sister Gwendolyn (the late Glenn) Waltz. He is further survived by in-laws, Frank Pavwoski, Mark Pavwoski, Denise Ehr, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Tom is also survived by his four-legged best friends, Juju and Cooper, who provided Tom with comfort and companionship through his journey. Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony “Tony” and Joanne (Flegler) Balestrieri, sister Carolyn, and brother Anthony “Chip”.

He touched the lives of everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 26th from 10AM until time of Memorial Service at 11AM at Northbrook Church at 4014 Hwy 167; Richfield, WI 53076.

Flowers can be sent to Northbrook Church, or preferably in lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Tom Balestrieri may be directed to support Lynch Syndrome Research at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
