Jo Kolanda of Mequon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the age of 81.

She was the beloved wife of Bruce Iglauer and beloved mother of Rebekah Beaudry of Mequon and Rachel Beaudry of Richmond, VA, and beloved sister of Earl Kolanda of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by six grandchildren—Ryan Kudlata and Griffith Kudlata of Shorewood, WI, Krystyna Kudlata of Cedarburg, WI, Madeline Kudlata of Seattle, WA, Hailey Johnson of Richmond, VA and Gabrielle Montalbano of Denver, CO. 

Ms Kolanda, a Milwaukee native, was a graduate of Marquette University. She was the founder and former Director of Victim-Witness Services for the Milwaukee Country District Attorney’s Office, one of the first Victim-Witness support programs in the country. She was a drafter of the Victim/Witness Bill of Rights for Wisconsin and helped in setting up State-funded Victim-Witness programs for the entire state of Wisconsin. After her retirement, she taught at Marquette. She was also the co-author of two children’s books on the legal system. 

The family will be holding a private memorial gathering.
