Diane M. Ekvall

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane M. Ekvall (Di), announce her passing on Monday September 2, 2024, at the age of 85.

Diane was born on June 13, 1939, in the Town of Barton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Louis and Angela Leitheiser, beloved sister of Marilyn “Pip” Klug, brother Kenneth Leitheiser, and surviving sister Barbara Baka.

Diane is the loving mother of the late Michael (Lisa) Baka, Mark (Sheila) Baka, Jackie (Roger) Caplinger, Linda (Mike) Campbell, Randy (Mary) Ekvall, and Laurel (Doug) Werhane: 12 grandchildren, Shawn, Tyler, Shannon, Kyle, Brett, Keith, Jake, Rob, Mark, Kevin, Jay, and Chris along with 12 great-grandchildren: Kyli, Chase, Logan, Colton, Alexis, Lydia, Leah, Isaac, Harlon, Charlotte, Kennedy, and Brody. She was preceded by her 1^st husband, Paul Baka, and her 2^nd husband, Harlon “Harley” Ekvall and her son Michael Baka.

Diane worked in the insurance industry for over 52 years, retiring in 2009.  She enjoyed playing cards, solitaire, reading numerous books, cooking and baking, along with watching the Brewers games.   Mostly, she loved to travel to see her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren spending quality time with all.   The entire family will miss her joyous laugh and giggles but most of all will remember Diane as bringing love and happiness to those she was close to.

A memorial service will be held for Diane at the Schmidt & Bartlet Funeral Home N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin on Sunday September 15^th at 3:00pm.   Diane’s family will greet friends and other family members at the funeral home on Sunday September 15^th beginning at 2:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service.
