On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Mae Ruth Walker departed this life to meet her Heavenly Father at the age of 97.

Mae was born August 17, 1927, in Forest Mississippi to the Union of Annie B Hill and Henry Fulton.

Mae attended Tuskegee Institute where she met her late husband Willie M. Walker and were married on April 28, 1952.

Mae embraced life with enthusiasm and lived it to the fullest. Finding great joy in her passions. An avid gardener, she took pleasure in caring for her plants and generously shared her harvest with the community. Mae was dedicated to her parish work at St. Mary’s Menomonee Falls and serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She also volunteered with the meal program at St. Benedict the Moor Parish. She enjoyed hosting holiday parties and entertaining guests. She loved discovering new travel destinations and trying a variety of fine dining experiences.

Mae leaves to celebrate her life and the legacy of her children, Mark Walker of Virginia and Karen (Earl) Stokes, of Milwaukee.

A loving Grandma of Kandace Brown, Nicholas Stokes, and Elijah Stokes. Beautiful Great Grandma of Alexys Schultz and Gabby Hampton. Pet grandma of Daisy and Gracie. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, friends, and the many individuals she connected with during her time at Story Point in Mequon.

Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Willie Mark Walker, daughter Patricia Walker, and her siblings Lonnie, Frank, J.C., Henry, Clymon, Percy, Robert, and Dorothy. Her in-laws Carrie and Bill Banty, Sadie and Willie Nickerson and Thomas and Johnnie Alexander, Mary Ruth Hurdle and Shirley Fulton.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Parish (N89W16297 Cleveland Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051) from 8:30 am until time of mass at 10:30 am.
