Duane C. Robinson

Of Lisbon. Born to Eternal life and found peace on October 12, 2024 at the age of 89 years.

Duane was born in Antigo, WI, on August 5, 1935 to Clarence and Marie (nee Gibbs) Robinson.

Beloved husband of Claire Anne (nee Podany) for 62 years. Loving father of Joel (Maria) of Brookfield, WI, Amanda (Dennis) of Rome, WI, and Quinn of Arbor Vitae, WI. Devoted grandfather of Justin and Kyle Robinson, and River and Gavyn Laack. Brother of Dale Robinson, and Cassandra McClendon. Brother-in-law of James (Linda) Podany, and Janelle (Gil) Flores.

Preceded in death by his sister Shirley (Earl) Tatro, brother-in-law Wesley George Podany, and sister-in-law Karen Nosek.

Survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends, and faithful pup, Rusty.

Duane grew up in Milwaukee with his three siblings. Following school, he served in the United States Air Force. He married his beautiful wife Claire Anne in 1962. They moved from Milwaukee to the town of Lisbon 53 years ago and bought a hobby farm with rolling acres and apple orchard to raise their family and have a home for their first horse, Strawberry. There, many wonderful memories have been made.

Duane retired from Globe Union (later Johnson Controls). In the mid-80’s he began repairing wood pallets in his yard as a hobby and would eventually partner with his oldest son Joel to form a successful company - J D Pallet Recycling, Inc.

Duane enjoyed sports and was a golf caddy in his youth; he loved riding his horses and teaching others to ride. He was an excellent bowler and played in leagues through work and with his wife, Claire Anne and their friends. Duane was a member of the Sussex Lions Club and an award winning football coach for their program for over 17 years. He went on to help coach flag football at Swallow School and Richmond School and he coached youth baseball as well.

Duane loved his home and tending to his large yard. He planted a vegetable garden every spring and spent hours tending his gardens. Other hobbies he enjoyed: the family dogs, annual trips with his family to Cocoa Beach, FL, classic vehicles, music, coin collecting, watching old western movies, and listening to his old-time radio shows.

His greatest joy was his family. He will be dearly missed.
