Jean Marie Weed
June 7, 1959 - March 30, 2025

Jean Marie Weed (nee Anders), age 65 of Sussex WI went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2025. Born on June 7, 1959 she is the youngest daughter of 14 children to Marie (Kleiber) and Roman Anders of Campbellsport WI. She was baptized a beloved child of God in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit on June 21, 1959.
Jean & Brett Weed were married in 1981. Together they raised their sons Christopher (Dawn) of Oregon WI and Tyler (Brittany) of Colgate WI. Jean treasured being grandmother to Eli, Ginny, Zoey and Kenzie. Sister to Joe (Krys), Tom (Barbara), Jude (Paula), Mike (Ellen), Paul, Mary (Mike) Louise, Joan (Norm), Jim, Gary, Patrick, Jeff (Linda), and Randy (Cheryl). Further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joe and Tom, sisters Mary and Joan, sister-in-law Ellen, nephew John and niece Tanya.
Jean attended UW-Milwaukee and Carroll University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration. Her work experiences included teller & bookkeeper in the banking industry, purchasing & accounting for print manufacturer Arandell-Schmidt Corp. For 25 years Jean used her administrative support and creative skills to help expand the UW Extension Waukesha Co. Nutrition Education Program. She retired in 2021.
Jean deeply loved her family; spending time with them & with friends filled her with thanks and joy. Jean humbly learned & reflected the good news of Jesus Christ and was delighted to use her God-given talents to encourage & serve others. She was active in the schools, the community and in her Christian church. Jean enjoyed playing the piano, reading, sewing, crafting & painting. She spent much time outdoors going on walks, gardening, canoeing & fishing. Jean dubbed their canoe Tina which was her own childhood neighborhood nickname. She and Brett pedaled many trails on their e-bikes, sometimes tying in hiking, sports, local theater, museums, art events, & dining to their bicycling adventures. At home relaxing & enjoying the yard was a favorite pastime. Jean cherished being with Piecemakers, the sewing group at Christ Lutheran; making items for those in need. She liked being part of the Friends of the Pauline Haass Library and a member of the Waukesha Creative Arts League.
Thank-you to our brothers & sisters in Christ, family, friends and medical teams for care & support during Jean’s battle with cancer.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12th at Christ Lutheran Church; W240 N3103 Pewaukee Rd., Pewaukee. A visitation will begin at 9:00am until 10:45am, with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am A private family committal at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lannon, WI at a later date.
