Beloved husband of 35 years and devoted father of two daughters. Rob passed away after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma found in his brain in March 2022. 

For 29 years, Rob was a dedicated teacher at MacArthur Elementary in Germantown, where he was deeply loved by his students and colleagues. He enjoyed being outdoors; skiing, golfing, and biking, and spending time with his family and friends. A loyal Cubs fan, Rob shared his love of the team with his daughters and his students, and he shared his love of beer with good company. Rob had a wonderful sense of humor and was endlessly compassionate. To know him was to love him, and his absence is profoundly felt by all who were lucky enough to have known him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Arlene. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters Rachel (Lucas) and Maggie; his brothers Mark (Julia), Tim, Dan (Donna), and Jon (Nicole); as well as in-laws and nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Rob’s doctors and care team at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin for their compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rob’s honor are appreciated to “The Mr. G Memorial Scholarship” (checks can be made out to Mary Greifenkamp with memo indicating “scholarship”) or to the Strain for the Brain Foundation either online or mailed to PO BOX 656, Brookfield, WI 53008.

Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, N84W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 on Monday, July 21 from 2:30pm until the time of memorial service at 5:00pm.

**The funeral home’s main entrance is under construction. It is open for westbound traffic, but not eastbound. There are two other entrances to the funeral home. One is on the east side of Shady Lane and the other is on the southwest side of the lot off of Town Hall Road.
