Timothy (Tim) Robert Osterberg went to the loving arms of Jesus on October 28, 2025, at the age of 63. Although his time here was shorter than we all hoped, the life he lived was full of love, laughter, and purpose.
Tim was born on June 16, 1962, in Seattle, Washington, to Bob and Phyl Osterberg. Tim and his family moved to Aurora, Wisconsin, where he grew up with his sisters, Karen and Patti. A proud graduate of Florence High School (1980), he went on to earn both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Tim began his career at Harley-Davidson, where he spent 20 years and made lasting contributions to the design of several motorcycle parts. His move to the Milwaukee area led him to Wauwatosa and to the love of his life, Cherie. They met at Elmbrook Church’s College and Career group and were married in January 1993. The couple built their family home on four acres in Hubertus, Wisconsin, where they raised their three beautiful children: Michaela, Samuel, and Casey.
A visionary and dreamer, Tim combined his engineering talent and entrepreneurial spirit to form Plow and Hearth, LLC, and Emerging Energies before returning to the powersports industry with Hayes Performance Systems. He later joined S&S Cycle, serving as VP of Product Development & Methods. To the very end, Tim was doing what he had always dreamed – designing and building engines, elevating a successful race team, and bringing in new business opportunities.
Tim loved being a husband, father, brother, and grandpa. He found joy in watching his kids’ sports, quiet mornings by the fireplace with Cherie, and sharing family traditions like Swedish pancakes and “crockpot Sundays.” He was deeply proud to see the family grow with the addition of Jay, Taylor, and Sam and to become Grandpa to Jett and Jordy.
Faith was the foundation of Tim’s life. A “Proverbs of the Day” man, he drew daily strength and wisdom from Scripture. Tim accepted Christ and was baptized by his father as a young boy—a moment that shaped the rest of his journey. He loved to share his faith through music, singing in church and traveling with The Continentals to spread the gospel. Throughout his married life, Tim remained a devoted member of Northbrook Church.
Tim will be deeply missed, and we rejoice that he is celebrating with loved ones in Heaven. He joins his parents, Bob and Phyl Osterberg, his uncle Gary Osterberg, and others who have gone before him.
He is survived by his wife Cherie; children Michaela (Jay) Roulette, Samuel (Taylor) Osterberg, and Casey (Sam) Osterberg; grandsons Jett and Jordy Roulette; and sisters Karen (Dan) Rydell and Patti (Greg) Hahn and their families.
Visitation will be held from 3–5 p.m. on Friday, November 7, at Northbrook Church (4014 WI-167, Richfield, WI 53076), followed by a Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Mike Bellanti officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Tim’s name to Northbrook Church.
