Cherie Anne Osterberg
October 5, 1962 - November 29, 2025

Cherie Anne Osterberg went to the loving arms of Jesus on November 29, 2025, at the age of 63. After being diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Cherie faced a long and trying journey with remarkable strength, love, and joy until the very end.

Born on October 5, 1962, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Barbara and Carl Herbst, Cherie grew up alongside her sister, Sandy. She attended Waukesha South High School and graduated in 1981. After high school, she spent four years in Boca Raton, Florida, before returning to the Milwaukee area. Back in Wisconsin, Cherie was swept off her feet by a tall, handsome lumberjack from the north woods named Tim. The two met through Elmbrook Church’s College and Career group and were married in January 1993. Together, they built their family home on four acres in Hubertus, Wisconsin, where they raised their three, beautiful children—Michaela, Samuel, and Casey.

Cherie loved being a mom more than anything. She cherished every season of motherhood, from the sweet, newborn cuddles to cheering from the sidelines of any and every sporting event her kids were involved in (which was A LOT). Cherie was the heart of the home.  One of her biggest goals was creating a “come as you are” atmosphere for anyone who visited the house. With her big-hearted personality and natural talent for interior design, she inspired a warm and peaceful haven where people instantly felt cared for and loved.

Known for her fun-loving spirit and artistic creativity, Cherie showcased this talent through countless projects—jewelry, cards, décor, shirts, and just about anything a Cricut machine could handle. She especially delighted in helping with décor for each of her children’s weddings. Her bright humor, generous heart, and love of gathering with friends made her a joy to be around. She cherished social activities like Bunco, bible studies, and continuing to support her adult kids at any event. She was a constant encourager to her family, especially her beloved husband, Tim, supporting him wholeheartedly in marriage, his career, and in the home front.

Cherie was overjoyed to step into her role as a “Gamma” to Jett and Jordy. She embraced every opportunity to witness their milestones, support her daughter in motherhood, and offer help however she could. Even as her condition worsened, she fought hard to remain present, intentional, and engaged with her grandsons. Though her time as a Gamma was far too short, it was one of her greatest sources of happiness.

Throughout her illness, Cherie found her strength in her faith in Jesus. Even as her earthly body declined, she held tightly to a deep sense of peace and hope in her eternal future. Although each stage of her illness brought new challenges, she was always looking for ways to care for the people around her. Through gifts, cards, and thoughtful texts, she poured love into the people she held dearly.

Cherie will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is in Heaven with our Lord and reunited with her late husband, Tim.

Cherie is survived by her children: Michaela (Jay) Roulette, Samuel (Taylor) Osterberg, and Casey (Sam) Osterberg; her grandsons, Jett and Jordy Roulette; her mother, Barbara Herbst; and her sister, Sandy Meurer (Chuck).
