Beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, and friend, Joseph "Joey" Kammers passed away peacefully in his sleep at the young age of 41 on January 1, 2026.
The son of Jeff and Cindy Kammers, Joseph (Joey) was born on May 11, 1984, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married his loving wife of six years, Christina Kammers (Huth), on October 13, 2019.
Joseph (Joey) is survived by his wife, Christina Kammers; his daughter, Tayla Kammers; his father, Jeff Kammers; his sister, Jackie Kammers (fiancé Eric Melsheimer); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Bonnie Huth; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Catherine and Jacob Bersch. He is also survived by many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins. Joseph (Joey) was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy Kammers; his maternal grandparents, Marv and Elsie Matuszczak; his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Darlene Kammers; and several beloved aunts and uncles.
Joseph (Joey) graduated with an associate’s degree in IT Administration from Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was recently promoted to Client Services Manager by his employer, Answerport, in Mequon, Wisconsin, a management and technology consulting company. Joseph (Joey) was incredibly talented and excited to be working with his team in this new capacity. He was always happy to share his knowledge and was genuinely eager to continue learning and growing new skills himself.
Above all else, Joseph’s (Joey’s) family meant everything to him. Christina and Tayla were the center of his world, and he was immensely proud of both his wife and daughter. They were who he chose to spend his time, energy, and love with throughout all of life’s adventures. Joseph (Joey) was talented in many ways, but above all, he was the most loving, caring, and supportive father to his precious Tayla. They were truly two peas in a pod, and Joseph’s (Joey’s) deep love for Tayla could never be captured in words.
In addition to his beautiful wife and daughter, Joseph’s cherished family included a number of cats and dogs that he doted on endlessly. He loved each of his pets beyond measure and leaves behind his beloved dogs, Bailey, Buffy, and Radar, and his cats, Winston, Willow, Georgie, Oz, and Colson.
Despite his lifelong battle with the rare disease Glycogen Storage Disease 9D, Joseph (Joey) never missed a beat and always put on the bravest of faces for his family and friends. He was an incredible advocate and was even asked to co-author a portion of the book Rare Diseases: Research and Support for Individuals with Rare and Often Neglected Medical Conditions, candidly sharing his hurdles of living with a rare disease with courage, strength, and resilience.
A private celebration of life for Joseph (Joey) will be planned at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, monetary contributions for Joseph (Joey) and Christina’s daughter, Tayla, would greatly help support her future education and experiences. Any contribution would be deeply appreciated.
