Marvin was a fixture at his local library, as he was an avid reader, with a special fondness for the works of Agatha Christie. If not at the library, Marvin could be found helping his community through volunteering his time at H&R Block advising on taxes, or ringing the bell for the Salvation Army around the holidays. He had several hobbies, including fishing, metal detecting, coin collecting, and attending Summerfest. Marvin also found peace in nature, often taking long walks and enjoying the view from his cottage window the abundant wildlife in his own backyard. Marvin will be remembered by friends and family as a hardworking man, who had a love for knowledge, nature, and the importance and sentimentality in the little things of life.

Dear companion of Ellaine Riser, proud father of Steve Steger and the late Rick Steger. Grandfather of Marina, Jessica and Aricka Steger. Marvin is also survived by his sister Diane "Sue" (William) Groth and brother Ralph (Laura) Steger, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife Darlene Steger, brother's Robert Steger, Ronald Steger and his sister Patricia Lescher.
