Ixonia - Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 1, 2026, at the age of 72. Beloved husband and best friend of Dawn for 47 years. Loving father of Benjamin (Lucy) Wuerl and Joseph (Brittany) Wuerl. Dear grandpa of Rocco Wuerl, Stella Wuerl, Finn Wuerl, Teddy Wuerl, and Graham Wuerl. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Born and spent most of his life in Wauwatosa before moving to Ixonia. Graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Marquette University High School, and St. Jude the Apostle Elementary School. Worked as a truck driver at Joy Global and real estate agent at Century 21, amongst other professional endeavors. Talented home remodeler, Wauwatosa Little League umpire, and Boy Scouts of America troop leader. Actively involved in the Wisconsin English Springer Spaniel Association and Lebanon Sportsman Club.

Admired for his selfless devotion to family and friends. Shared his love of fishing, hunting, and a good meal with all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Friday March 6, 2026, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa 10121 W. North Ave. from 11am until time of service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin appreciated.
